Groupe Berlie-Falco selected for the SME Passport program
As a nationally and internationally renowned specialist in green technologies, Groupe Berlie-Falco is one of 15 companies from the metropolitan area and Western Quebec to be selected to participate in the first ever SME Passport program.
Presented by the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, SME Passport is a support program that aims to support local companies in developing their international business. “More than 45 companies submitted their candidacy to SME Passport and 15 of them were selected based on their potential and their commitment to expand into new markets,” announced Michel Leblanc, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. The jury, comprising financal and international development specialists, evaluated each company’s proposal as well as its international development goals. With exports outside of Canada representing more than 50% of its sales figures, Groupe Berlie-Falco is already well established in international markets. Our recognized expertise in biomethanization (anaerobic digestion), dewatering and drying biosolids and sludge has allowed us to develop a clientele in Europe, the United States, Africa and the Middle East.
A profitable program
The SME Passport program offers several advantages to the companies selected. Throughout the year, each SME participant will benefit from the continuous support of an international development specialist who will develop a customized action plan based on a needs evaluation of the company and its high potential markets. Training workshops and various networking activities will allow the management teams to acquire international development knowledge and to forge relationships with potential business partners. Valued at $25,000 in services and visibility, SME Passport also provides companies an opportunity to expand internationally by realizing a trade mission in a targeted foreign country. Thanks to SME Passport, Groupe Berlie-Falco is pursuing its conquest of world markets.
